I saw this image posted on a friend’s Facebook page and turned away from the screen as I normally would (hellllooooo they’re not grain free and I live a strictly grain-free lifestyle!)
But I scrolled back because I started thinking more about it…not about eating it or even trying it, mind you (I stay strictly grain-free for health reasons, read my full story here) but more about what it means.
So what?
There are a couple of important points and I’ll start with the positive; the big companies are listening! They have to be losing sales hand over fist to be willing to go to the extremes of certifying bags of chips as organic! Keep voting with your dollars AND your voices.
Second, and I say this with full hesitation, am I the only one that thinks there is little chance that these can be truly, completely organic? Check out these national stats:
“Currently, up to 92% of U.S. corn is genetically engineered (GE), as are 94% of soybeans and 94% of cotton [1] (cottonseed oil is often used in food products). It has been estimated that upwards of 75% of processed foods on supermarket shelves – from soda to soup, crackers to condiments – contain genetically engineered ingredients.” (from Center For Food Safety.org)
But they are certified organic! So it begs the question of the certification and my level of trust (and yours!)
Here are the ingredients in the organic white cheddar Doritos:

Would not trust them in a million years. No I am sure they are not non gmo!! It is an evil world and I would say this is yet another level of deception in search of more almighty dollars.
Totally agree, Andrea!!
NEVER Would I buy this product
No, me neither! Horrible! I hate how they market “healthy” things that simply aren’t.
